My externship took place at Springfield Hospital Center, a psychiatric facility located in Sykesville, Maryland. Throughout this opportunity, I gained hands-on training in conducting court-ordered evaluations that assessed an individual\'s competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility. Additionally, I assisted with risk assessments and had the invaluable chance to accompany psychologists to court proceedings, where I observed expert testimony and legal processes firsthand. I eagerly collaborated with the team of forensic evaluators, psychiatrists, and psychologists, as this immersive experience significantly deepened my knowledge and enhanced my educational journey.
