I am passionate about storytelling and mentoring the next generation.After a long career in broadcast network news, I founded One in a Billion Productions Inc (501c3) in 2017 as a non-profit media company based in Cambridge, MA. It is a personal storytelling platform (film/podcast/blogs) and a global network for students and professionals from Asia and America. In 2019, One in a Billion Productions (501c3) began supporting filmmakers and podcasters who address current social, cultural, or personal issues with a compelling voice and an artistic lens. We also publish blogs by Asians or Americans with personal experience or insight into Asian values, workplace challenges, as well as life experiences, and philosophy.We focus on topics of critical concern to Asians and Americans.Topics of particular interest include gender inequality, racial/ethnic discrimination, cultural identity and assimilation, socio-economic alienation, and workplace diversity and integration.I host and execute produce One in a Billion podcast with a fantastic audio team - a meticulous sound engineer and a creative sound designer in Boston. Our editorial team of freelancers and volunteers are based in New York, Chicago, and Atlanta. My mission is to inspire personal best and to spark intercultural conversations between Asians and Americans. Previously, I was a producer at ABC News Good Morning America specializing in breaking news, parenting and health stories. I’ve also produced for Dateline, NBC News, CBS Evening News, and received top journalism awards including the Edward R. Murrow, the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia, the George F. Peabody for investigative reporting on insurance fraud, and breaking news coverage of the 9/11 attacks from Ground Zero.Prior to producing for American network news, I served as principal anchor and correspondent for Hong Kong Television Broadcasts (HK-TVB) reporting on student protests in China, refugees exodus from Vietnam, Pol Pot survivors in Cambodia, plane crash in Thailand.I was born in Hong Kong, speak several languages (English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese), and love to live life to the fullest.
