ABOUT MAAN AL-ZAREER
I’m a mechanical engineer specializing in thermal and electrochemical systems, passionate about turning complex energy challenges into practical solutions.At Tesla, I lead advanced battery and thermal analysis, leveraging CAD, finite-element, and CFD tools to design next-generation cooling strategies for high-performance electric vehicles and energy-storage systems. My work spans detailed electro-thermal modeling to full-vehicle thermal management, always with a focus on innovation, safety, and efficiency.I earned my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Ontario Tech University, where I researched liquid-immersion and liquid-to-vapor thermal management for electronics and battery packs. Postdoctoral fellowships at Ontario Tech and the University of Toronto expanded my expertise in electric-vehicle research and advanced thermal design. Along the way I’ve published more than 36 peer-reviewed papers, co-authored four book chapters, and presented at multiple international conferences.I enjoy collaborating across disciplines and mentoring emerging engineers, and I’m always happy to connect with others working at the intersection of energy, transportation, and advanced thermal technologies.
