ABOUT MAAME ABENA ADJEIWAA

I am a Biology and public health student at the University of Oklahoma with a strong interest in medicine, public health, and biomedical research. My long-term goal is to become a physician and contribute to improving healthcare outcomes, particularly for communities affected by chronic and life-threatening diseases. My passion for medicine is deeply personal. I developed a strong commitment to understanding disease, advancing research, and supporting patients and families facing serious health challenges. These experiences continue to shape my academic focus and career aspirations. Currently, I am building a strong foundation in biological sciences while gaining experience in research ethics and scientific inquiry. I have completed certification in Human Research through the CITI Program, which trained me in the ethical principles and regulatory standards involved in research with human participants. I am particularly interested in research that bridges science, medicine, and real-world health disparities. Beyond academics, I enjoy communicating ideas about science, faith, and personal growth through digital content and storytelling. I believe that knowledge should not only advance science but also empower people and communities. I am always interested in opportunities that allow me to grow as a student, researcher, and future physician while contributing to meaningful work in healthcare and science.
