Mike is an entrepreneur and Sr. Effector Guidance and Navigation Engineer at Chaos Industries. Mike is also the President of 9three Solutions Inc. which consults and designs and manufactures Unmanned Systems including large UAS (aircraft), USVs (boats), and other autonomous robotic systems. Mike is the principal contributor on the development of new software and avionics products supporting the UAM/UAS/USV industries, focusing on scalability (hardware and software) and AI/ML inference at the edge. Mission sets include ISR, Comms relay, payload/cargo delivery, 3D aerial mapping of construction and disaster recovery areas, linear inspection and maintenance of power and gas transmission lines, and gas leak detection. Mike is heavily involved in all phases of the development including design, implementation, and testing.Previously, Mike been a software manager at SkyGrid, a Boeing Venture, which provides enabling technologies for the integration of Advanced / Urban Air Mobility (AAM/UAM) aircraft into the national airspace. Mike has managed multiple teams including High Integrity (ARP-4754B/DO-178C DAL B – DAL D) Software Development and Verification and Validation teams for both Research and Development and Production Programs. Mike has also been the Director of Flight Control Software at AIBOT, an innovative and talented 2nd wave Urban Air Mobility (UAM) electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft company as well as the Director of Software Engineering at Swift Engineering: leading, and developing the full software stack for the long-range electric Swift 021 VTOL Unmanned Aircraft System: a platform (drone) for Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). Mike has also worked as a consultant in a variety of industries including energy as a Sr. Robotics Engineering Consultant for GE Global Research (Avitas Systems) for development of vertical asset (flare stack) inspection UAS platforms (drones), Principal Engineer for development of and testing of a novel cyclocopter propulsion system (Spectrum Aerospace), military flight simulation (CAE USA), and information technology security (Booz Allen Hamilton).
