About Mohammad Yazdi
I am currently an Engineer IV - Geotechnical at Mott MacDonald, Seattle, WA. In this role, I\'m involved in a variety of projects that include seismic hazard analysis, site response analysis, ground modeling, liquefaction assessment, ground motion models, slope stability analysis, and pile design and analysis. Additionally, I have experience on geotechnical data management and construction oversight for some major infrastructure projects in Washington State. I received my Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2022. My PhD research focused on studying local site effects and reducing the uncertainties in ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs) by incorporating site period. From 2017 to 2019, I studied the effect of liquefaction-induced lateral spreading on piles at the soil dynamics and physical modeling laboratories. My area of expertise lies at the intersection of Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering, Foundation Engineering, and Engineering Seismology.
