ABOUT HOSNEE MOBARAK

Ph.D, P.Eng.| Hybrid & Electric Powertrain Controls EngineerI am an experienced professional motivated by a strong commitment to advancing clean, efficient, and sustainable transportation. My work is driven by the desire to improve vehicle performance, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to a future where electric and hybrid mobility can thrive globally. In my current role, I design and optimize hybrid powertrain control systems, focusing on seamless torque distribution between electric motors and internal combustion engine. Leveraging model-based development in MATLAB/Simulink and tools like ETAS MDA and INCA, I take concepts from simulation to validated software releases, both in AUTOSAR and legacy streams. With a track record of improving performance and efficiency across multiple releases, I thrive in cross-functional teams, managing architecture, version control, and deployment. I am proud to contribute to Stellantis as part of the Canadian workforce that enabled a 2024 SR & ED claim of $41.9M.Previously, I developed EV Drivetrain Simulator software through high-fidelity vehicle modeling for powertrain performance evaluation with excellent accuracy and performance improvement through system-level analysis and new strategy and control implementation. I optimized experimental EV battery simulation models, creating comprehensive electrical, thermal, and aging simulations to accurately estimate battery degradation under various conditions and charging rates. I predicted powertrain performance for new vehicle lineups, proposed suitable components to enhance efficiency, and identified unknown configurations through reverse engineering. All of these accomplishments were made possible by my extensive vehicle modeling experience during my Ph.D, where I developed intelligent but decentralized vehicle-directed smart charging strategies as well as on-board solar charging approaches promoting clean renewable energy to maximize EV adoption without replacing existing distribution transformers. These experiences continue to guide my work today, allowing me to develop innovative solutions that advance sustainable mobility, improve energy efficiency, and contribute to a cleaner, greener future.
