The issue for most investors (individuals and institutional) is that their investment results do not meet their objectives. Most investors chase the outperforming investment manager or asset class at the wrong time, pay too much for their advice (financial adviser and institutional consultant) and are not properly diversified.In 2010, my partners and I set out to rethink asset management. We founded Blue Edge Capital to deliver global endowment style investing to family offices, smaller foundations/institutions, and high net worth individuals but with lower costs, 100% daily liquidity and full transparency. For our taxable investors, the strategy is very tax efficient.Our BEC portfolios provide extensive diversification across geographies, industry sectors and market capitalization by using ETFs that generally track underlying passive indices. We systematically monitor and adjust asset allocation in each portfolio to provide lower volatility, reduced correlation of returns and exposure to liquid alternative investments in addition to traditional asset classes. What we have created at BEC is unique, focused, disciplined, and most important, forward thinking with both asset allocation and index/ETF selection. My partners and I own 100% of our firm and have invested most of our liquid net worth in the same portfolios as our clients, closely aligning our interests and success with those of our clients.
