   Sandy Hook Promise is a non-partisan national nonprofit formed and led by several family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012. With a mission to educate and empower youth and adults to prevent violence in schools, homes, and communities, SHP envisions a a future where children are free from shootings and acts of violence.\\\\n\\\\nAurora leads the organization\'s state-level policy agenda. This includes designing state-based ground strategies to ensure the public\'s ability to advocate effectively for balanced gun violence prevention measures and drafting model legislation strategically designed to advance students\' safety while protecting their mental health and wellness. Aurora is responsible for:\\\\n- Guiding and executing SHP\'s policy strategy, including driving the organization\'s message to key stakeholders, elected officials, and local partners\\\\n- Analyzing state legislation and regulatory activity impacting SHP priorities\\\\n- Crafting the organization\'s state-based model legislation across all subject matter\\\\n- Organizing and mobilizing SHP\'s base of supporters at a state and local level, in service of the organization\'s mission and advocacy initiatives\\\\n- Developing state advocacy tools and materials\\\\n-Managing junior staff\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n
