ABOUT LYNN HOUMDI CMGR
I am the Founder of the 23.6k-strong Flexible Working Scotland community. Scotland\'s only peer support community dedicated to enabling people to work flexibly, recruit flexibly and advocate for greater flexibility and equality at work. I am also the co-Creator of Making Work Work, the award-winning suite of programmes facilitating the transition to meaningful work for hundreds of women\'s returners across Scotland. 2 in 5 people in Scotland can\'t work at all without flexibility. Many of these are women, but there are other people who are skilled and talented for whom the Monday-Friday 9-5 just doesn\'t work. I am building the Flexible Working Scotland Jobs Boards to match diverse, flexible talent with forward-thinking employers. It will spotlight working patterns and workplace culture - the two most important search criteria for those who need alternative working arrangements. identifying how people can contribute their best work enables employee and employer to both thrive. During my previous career, including a 13-year career in public policy and diplomacy, as well as experience in the private and third sectors, I have developed a solid track record in leadership, strategic thinking and communication, problem solving and community engagement. I am an experienced leader and an extremely well-organised manager of people, tasks, budgets, information, stakeholders, communities and projects. I have a keen eye for business opportunities and the potential of business for good. In 2024, I attained Chartered Manager status in recognition of my management and leadership excellence.
