First class BA (Hons) Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy. Specialism -Bereavement. Qualified in July 2017, as a Person-centred/Experiential Counsellor/PsychotherapistInterest in personal development groups. Achieved a first in my dissertation \'Experiences of Students Flourishing within the Personal Development Group\'. Studied at Edge Hill University where I have completed project work. Previously worked as a School Counsellor for Young Persons Advisory Service and Private Practice working with adults and children. Previously worked for Brighter Horizons and at St Joseph\'s Family Centre as a C and YP Counsellor which was an IAPT funded counselling services + as a School Counsellor for Willow Project. Volunteered at Wigan and Leigh Hospice, Place2Be, a GP Surgery and Age Concern.Member of the BACP, Working towards BACP accreditation. Experience of working with a variety of client issues: addictions, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, depression, divorce, domestic abuse, grief and loss, physical disabilities, childhood sexual abuse, neurodiversity, miscarriage, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, sexuality and gender issues. rape, relationship issues. suicide (completed ASSIST certificate)Certificate in Counselling 20071st year of the Advanced Diploma in Counselling placements at G.P. Worked as a Mad Science Presenter and a volunteer counsellor for Place2be working with children in Primary Schools. Previously volunteered as a Listener for St Marks Church Bereavement Listening Group, Rainbow Leader, Assistant Brownie Leader and Sunday School teacher for 8 years, a Beanstalk reading helper in a local school. Whilst completing my degree I worked as a Care Worker dealing with all aspects of personal care and safeguarding adults and vulnerable people. Worked at Wigan Council for over 25 years in various Administrative roles including Clerk/Typist, Receptionist, Administrative Assistant in various sections of Social Services including Area Office, Child Protection -attending and minuting child protection case conferences, Finance, Human Resources, Occupational Therapy and Financial Assessment Officer completing home visits to vulnerable service users and completing benefit claim forms/joint working with the Pension Service.
