I have over 35 years\' experience in NHS finance, having worked up from Receivables Clerk to Associate Director of Financial Services, although predominantly a financial services specialist, I have spent a number of years as a management accountant and have led a number of finance system implementations due to a keen interest in finance systems and processes. I worked in a number of organisations in the North East during those 35 years, including working at a Health Authority, Regional Health Authority and both Community and Acute Trusts. Having been a head of department since 1996, one of my favourite parts of the job was encouraging staff to achieve their potential so to take this one step further, in 2015, I took over the role of Skills Development Manager for the North East and North Cumbria. I am CIMA qualified and undertook mentor training in 2016.
