ABOUT LYN KEANE
Careers Advisor at The Thetford Academy. Previously a successful Senior Advocate and Project Manager of 2 funded 2 year projects assisting and supporting a variety of individuals into employment. Completed both projects meeting the set targets. Assisted over 170 individuals, aged from 18 – 70, in their job search with 95 confirming employment. Focused on CVs; cover letters; interview techniques and improving English skills if required. Work experience and voluntary opportunities were arranged and encouraged along with courses to suit their plans moving forward. Prior to these projects an outplacement consultant in Dubai, working with Fortune 500 employees who had been made redundant, assisting them with the emotional effects of redundancy and their search for new opportunities including transitioning into a new role. Also, on a consultancy basis a TEFL teacher, teaching in 5 Star hotels to a range of staff and nationalities achieving successful student attainment. These latter roles focused on clients from multi-cultural backgrounds. The skills to become a consultant were gained from the 3-year tenure as relationship manager in a global outplacement and coaching company. Earlier experience - a recruitment consultant developing business and successfully establishing relationships with various banks and insurance companies and placing candidates in suitable positions. Previous roles include office management working with teams of staff; establishing new processes and procedures in order to meet company requirements. Other experience - accounts, sales and a stint as editor for a GCC regional business magazine. Prior to moving to Dubai, a registered nurse for 11 years.
