I’m a father, husband, and describe myself as a “generalist nerd.” I enjoy working on complex technical projects, especially when they have a visible impact on people’s lives and when I’m responsible for both implementation and support. I love learning new things, and tackling a new set of programming tools in preparation for an anticipated project is a welcome relief from my day-to-day. I tend develop skills on personal projects and end up applying them at work.My preferred area or focus is on refactoring existing code - in short, striking the balance between “robust enough to meet today’s business needs” and “flexible enough to meet the needs of tomorrow”.
