ABOUT LYNDSEY GRAY
I lead diverse projects that broadly meet at the intersection of international development and national security. My scientific background lends me expertise in global health and development, biosecurity, clinical research, infectious disease management, disease surveillance, applied science, and international field work. However, I have also worked extensively in other areas of science policy and diplomacy, including climate change mitigation, chemical and pharmaceutical security, research security, emerging technology and AI, and space diplomacy. My experience in both research and program management has equipped me for a career that is not confined to academia, but rather generalized to public service and industry. Additionally, I am a natural liaison who is quick to connect ideas and facilitate interdisciplinary teams of diverse colleagues. I excel at spanning worldview divides, bringing groups together, negotiating, and managing ambitious and difficult programs. I take great joy in building capacity in any form and have experience designing skill-building workshops, curriculums, and other educational outreach. Typical of a scientist, I am always curious and eager to learn something new; being a non-expert does not intimidate me and I enjoy reinventing my knowledge sets. Although I am a natural brainstormer, I also know how to design and implement realistic, evidence-based solutions to real-life, immediate problems. I thrive in fast-paced work environments and treat problem solving as a pleasure. I also avidly study languages and am currently quadrilingual (English, French, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese).
