About Lyla Browne
As an avid researcher, I have a passion for improving global healthcare and medical/ technological advancement. I realized my passion during the 14 years I lived in Trinidad and Tobago, where noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and chronic lung disease are extremely prevalent and healthcare facilities are limited and not up to western standards.Currently, I am working on an individual research project, where I am creating a device for blood transfusions that can help areas in conflict. My recent projects on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Diabetes won several first place prizes and qualified me for the Regeneron ISEF two years in a row (‘23, ‘24).I am driven by ambition, and I thrive in environments where I can collaborate and demonstrate my full potential. Outside of work, you\'ll definitely find me in the pool as I am a national swimmer for Trinidad and Tobago and hope to compete for them in the upcoming Olympics.
