   Project Kuiper Mechanical Engineer II - Solar Arrays - Drove design overhaul of solar panel from prototype to production, optimizing for cost, mass, reliability, lead time - Designed and built first next-gen panel with improved 7% power increase within same area constraints - Organized and executed first production-demo solar array build months ahead of any other vehicle subsystem. Spearheaded utilization of demo array as pathfinder for array and vehicle level design upgrades, manufacturing method development, preload / vibe / acoustic / dispense testing across design, manufacturing, integration teams - Leads integrated system level vibration, structural, acoustic, and MMOD test campaigns - Drives solar array brightness mitigation efforts, including materials selection, BRDF/BTDF testing, and power-positive, low-drag offpointing flight maneuvers - Partners with Amazon Regulatory team to present brightness mitigation approach to US Congress and international astronomical and aerospace regulatory committees - Developed test method to ensure continuity of entire satellite power system at any point in manufacturing and integration workflows, both at WA manufacturing site and FL launch site - Developed novel test method to screen for solar array damage during integrated vehicle operations without breaking flight configurations. Developed and built all required electrical and mechanical test hardware - Designed and built test and flight prototype harnesses and PCBAs - Designed and built EGSE test racks for cross-site integrated vehicle power system hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing - Mentors junior engineers in mechanical design, manufacturing, test best practices - Involved in DEI efforts to increase Kuiper Program\'s gender ratio to exceed industry standards
