About Lydia Gladski

I am currently preparing to begin my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Rhode Island. With over hours of observation in orthopedic, pediatric, neurological, oncologic, and medical/surgical physical therapy across both outpatient and inpatient settings, I’ve gained extensive exposure to diverse patient populations and rehabilitation techniques. Currently, I work as a Physical Therapy Aide, assisting with patient care and observing treatments in orthopedic, neurological, and pelvic floor rehabilitation. I also completed an internship on the orthopedics floor at South County Hospital, where I supported post-surgical patients and observed their recovery process. These hands-on opportunities have deepened my understanding of therapy techniques and strengthened my passion for helping people overcome challenges and regain their strength. Few things are as rewarding as seeing patients rebuild confidence in their mobility and return to doing what they love.

Experience

  1. Physical Therapy Aide

    Ivy Rehab Network

    May 2023 — Present

I assist in the care of 50–60 patients each week, supporting therapy preparation, treatment setup, and individualized exercise programs. I collaborate closely with physical therapists working with diverse populations, including pediatric, geriatric, and pelvic floor patients, gaining insight into a wide range of rehabilitation needs. Each week, I aid in and observe over 15 therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, balance and coordination training, electrotherapy, patient education, neurological re-education, and pelvic floor/women’s health techniques. The majority of diagnoses treated are orthopedic, neurological, and pelvic floor-related, providing me with a strong foundation in varied clinical presentations. In addition to technical support, I strive to create a welcoming and encouraging environment for every patient. I’ve been consistently recognized by both patients and staff for my approachability, positive attitude, and emotional support during the rehabilitation process.
