About Lydia El-Sayegh
My ultimate hope is to have a redemptive, constructive impact on the world by bridging public health and engineering to solve the health problems that burden under-resourced communities. To this end, I am currently carving a path to global health engineering through my degree at Georgia Tech. My degree equips me well as project manager, allowing me to speak different engineering and health languages. I build upon this by leaning into my technical & research skills on my senior design project, learning public health methodologies in elective classes and implementing them with The Carter Center\'s Trachoma Control Program, and exercising adaptability and cross-cultural communication & design in Engineers Without Borders. Through it all, I am developing the practice of empathetic, human-centered design, the cornerstone of my career. I seek experiences in community-based development and biomedical engineering that allow me to build on this empathy and equip me to solve the world\'s most pressing medical problems.
