ABOUT LYDIA AASHISH VALSALEN
As an experienced IB PYP educator and IBEN PYP Programme Leader, I have spent over a decade facilitating inquiry-based learning and supporting the implementation of the IB philosophy across diverse educational contexts. My teaching and learning practices are grounded in IB best practices, with a strong emphasis on student agency, international-mindedness, and the holistic development of learners. In my role as a Programme Leader, I guide schools through the IB evaluation process—reviewing documentation, participating in visits, and contributing to collaborative, evidence-informed reporting. I am deeply committed to nurturing the social and emotional well-being of all learners, fostering inclusive and reflective classrooms where a growth mindset is encouraged. As a lifelong learner, I continuously seek to deepen my understanding of IB programmes and contribute meaningfully to the global IB community.
