I support the Budget Director and County Manager in coordinating the development, implementation, and monitoring of the County’s $2.3 billion annual operating budget. I also lead a team of 8 professional budget analysts to support this work. My role requires extensive collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure the budget is reflective of the needs of our community, and is executed effectively and efficiently. I enjoy leading my Team to help stakeholders find solutions to problems, bring clarity to complicated questions, and help the organization to better serve our residents. The Mecklenburg County Office of Management and Budget serves as an objective advisor to the County Manager on all decisions regarding the annual operating budget and resource allocations across the organization. We have been recognized by GFOA for our quarterly budget monitoring report process which serves to advise leadership on departmental expense and revenue trends, the status of priority investments, and vacancy trends. Our office is also responsible for conducting a comprehensive public engagement process to ensure that all residents are provided equitable access to contribute to the budget decision-making process. We also received recognition from GFOA for this work in 2020.
