I’m a bilingual (Spanish-English) Clinical Social Worker and community health strategist with 15+ years of experience advancing health equity, mental health access, and culturally grounded care. My work lives at the intersection of clinical practice, public health, and systems change—focused on creating real, sustainable impact in communities that are too often left behind.In my current role at the WakeMed Center for Community Health, I provide trauma-informed case management for high-acuity patients while also leading community-facing health equity efforts. I serve as the facilitator of our Community Advisory Board, where I guide strategic planning in partnership with residents, faith leaders, and grassroots partners. I also lead initiatives to reduce chronic stress in vulnerable populations, including the distribution of the CALM Health app—with over 400 free licenses provided to community members thus far—and the facilitation of mental health conversations in trusted community spaces.Most recently, I led the Stress to Strength Symposium at Shaw University, bringing together 125+ frontline professionals and community leaders for a day of collective healing, learning, and action.
