About Lucy Gonzalez
Hi, I’m Lucy - a Senior Product Designer with a master’s in Human–Computer Interaction, currently focused on designing thoughtful, user-centered experiences for complex enterprise SaaS products.I enjoy simplifying complexity and turning abstract ideas into clear, intuitive interfaces. My work blends UX strategy, strong visual design, and a deep understanding of how to balance user needs with business goals.I love collaborating with cross-functional teams to move ideas from concept to reality, shaping products that are not only powerful, but genuinely easy to use.Outside of work, you’ll usually find me roller skating at my local skatepark, or running. I’m a fan of spooky movies, good design, and anything a little offbeat, and I bring that same curiosity and creative energy into everything I design.
Experience
Senior Product Designer
Feb 2026 — Present
As a Senior Product Designer on the ArcGIS Instant Apps team, I lead design across complex, cross-product initiatives while continuing to design end-to-end product experiences from discovery through delivery. I partner closely with product engineers, engineers, UX research, and design systems teams to shape scalable, user-centered solutions across the ArcGIS platform. In this role, I’ve led major redesign efforts including the Instant Apps configuration experience and homepage, using customer research and usability findings to simplify workflows, reduce friction, and improve onboarding. I regularly collaborate across teams, including Solutions, Survey123, Microsoft, and National Government, to design shared patterns and AI-powered experiences that align with Calcite standards and feel consistent across products.I’ve played a key role in introducing AI into Instant Apps, supporting the design of Data Explorer and contributing to AI-driven workflows such as image-assisted reporting for Crowdsource Reporter. This work involved researching AI patterns across Esri and the broader industry, defining best practices, and helping teams make emerging technology feel intuitive and trustworthy for users.Beyond product work, I contribute to design strategy and team growth by mentoring, leading cross-team design discussions, and creating shared documentation such as mobile UI requirements and research templates. I help drive alignment across products while advocating for accessibility, mobile-first thinking, and customer-centered design decisions.
