Luwam Yohanes is a first-generation Eritrean global public health innovator focused on amplifying the voices of underserved communities. She uses creative tools to connect diverse demographics and develop accessible materials that promote healthier, thriving communities. As a Program Associate with the Aspen Global Innovators Group, Luwam helps build a network of changemakers dedicated to advancing health, equity, and community in global health initiatives.Previously, Luwam was a Program Specialist at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD), supporting CDC-funded programs to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities. Her experience as a Registered Behavioral Technician at Easterseals UCP, working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, sparked her passion for public health and disability advocacy.Luwam holds an MPH in Maternal, Family, and Child Health and a BA in Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is passionate about addressing complex challenges in global health and disability studies.
