ABOUT LUTALO MCGEE

Lutalo McGee is the Owner of Ani World LLC, encompassing Ani Real Estate, Ani Appraisal Management, Ani Title, the Black Male Real Estate Expo, and Ani Empowerment Group (nonprofit). A practitioner, advocate, and institution builder, he has spent nearly two decades at the intersection of real estate, policy, and community development.Lutalo currently serves as President of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (2025–2026) and 2nd Vice President of the Dearborn Realtist Board — the Chicago chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, the nation\'s oldest minority real estate trade association. He also serves as a NAR Board Director and Appraisal Foundation Trustee, where he sits on the Impact, Nominating, and CARE Committees. His commitment to fair housing, appraisal equity, and Black wealth-building has made him a leading voice on housing policy at the local, state, and national level.Through the Black Male Real Estate Expo (founded 2022) and Ani Empowerment Group (founded 2015), Lutalo is creating pathways into real estate careers and investment for Black men and boys.A CAR Top Producer (2014, 2016–2021), Managing Broker of the Year (2019), and recipient of the Community Service Award (2020) and Illinois REALTORS® Presidential Medallion (2021), his commentary has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Crain\'s, NBC Chicago, and NAR REALTOR® Magazine.A former Chicago Public Schools educator, Lutalo holds a B.S. from Eastern Illinois University, an M.A.T. from National Louis University, and certificates from Harvard and Cornell. He is a CCIM Candidate, a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.(Iota Phi Sigma Chapter), and a Board Director at Ada S. McKinley Community Services.When not working, you might find him riding his motorcycle, playing video games, watching the Bears, Bulls, or Cubs, or traveling with his family.
