ABOUT LILIANA RODRIGUEZ

As a Senior Service Designer and User Centred Design (UCD) Lead at NHS England, I have been applying my expertise in user research, user experience design, interaction and service design to design and deliver services that improve the health and well-being of the population in the UK for over two years. I have a PhD in Design Research from Loughborough University, where I studied technology appropriation, awareness, and identification in digital services.I have over 18 years of experience in coordinating, researching, and designing services and experiences across various contexts and domains. Some of the projects that I am most proud of are the ones that involved co-design and participatory work with users and stakeholders, such as the novel strategy to encourage HIV self-testing, the GP Champions project to increase HIV testing rates in general practices, and the digital campaign to reduce HIV stigma and discrimination using social media platforms. These projects were funded by Public Health England and ViiV, and won awards and recognition from the BMJ and the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV. My mission is to use design as a tool for social change and innovation, and to empower people to take control of their own health and well-being.
