ABOUT LUKE ALEXANDER
My name is Luke Alexander, and I am a recent graduate of Auburn University with a degree in psychology where I simultaneously fulfilled pre-medical prerequisite requirements. I plan to one day attend medical school. Throughout my time at Auburn University, I participated in various campus clubs and volunteering events each semester, mainly focusing on mental health disparities and raising money for cancer research. Working as a peer interventionist in my eating disorder research lab, I was able to lead groups working with men throughout various areas of Alabama and Georgia teaching about challenging negative body talk and bringing awareness to the impacts of muscle dysmorphia in both male and LGBTQ+ populations. Post-grad, I continued my passion for eating disorder treatment by working as an eating disorder technician at Center for Discovery in their Dunwoody adolescent residential treatment facility. I now currently work as a behavioral health specialist at Veritas Collaborative where I lead therapeutic skills groups based on cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies to help patients navigate their recovery journey and build a life worth living. I am a firm believer in kindness and cultivation, and aim to use those traits to strive toward a life of servitude in medicine.
