ABOUT LUKE ILLIDGE

Hey, I’m Luke a design leader with a journey, over the past decade, from designer no.1 in an early-stage startup through to managing high-performing UX teams, and providing strategic design thinking in global marketplace businesses. From my early teen years (at the beginning of this millennium) I found my creative interest in web design and development; learning code, interface design and animation. I’m still as excited now to “hit the the publish button” even though It’s more in the capacity of contribution to a team or org releasing another iteration of an experience that improves a users life; books their dream honeymoon, connects with another person in need of support, uncovers an amazing rising artist or completes their tax return faster than ever. In hands-on craft: I’ve developed skills in research, facilitation, prototyping and testing methods - enjoying a ‘generalist’ skillset that’s expanded from earlier roles, where I had focus on interface design. In recent times finding satisfaction as a design leader in product/experience strategy collaboration, helping teams to achieve better UX outcomes through coaching/direction, and scaling design standards through systems and playbooks. At work I feel I bring energy, curiosity and resilience. I’m energised by the big picture, innovation and learning/ discovery. I love to work with empowered teams/orgs, inspired by vision - where humble, ethical and inclusive values are present. Above all else to laugh, celebrate and/or get a little wiser - even in the many occasions where things don\'t go to plan.
