Support approximately 140 MA/PhD students via counseling, tracking degree progress, advising on graduate student policies, recommending course options, reviewing academic plans, approving policy exceptions, managing course registration, leading orientation, and coordinating end of year graduation celebrations•Collaborate with the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) by coordinating committee meetings, operationalizing department logistics and initiatives, serving as an expert on University of Minnesota and department policies, and implementing program changes•Serve as department liaison to CEHD leadership, the Graduate School, and University of Minnesota central offices, ensuring students, staff, and faculty are aware of new requirements, policies, processes, and procedures•Coordinate and manage student recruitment procedures for nine MA/PhD program areas within department by serving as a central contact for all prospective students, answering inquiries about application logistics and admissions status, coordinating communication of funding offers to candidates, and providing relevant updates to admissions committee members•Support fellowship and scholarship distribution by creating and coordinating scholarship application procedures, overseeing scholarships budgets, and carrying out appropriate procedures to ensure fellowships and scholarships are processed and awarded correctly in a timely manner•Mentor and support Curriculum and Instruction Graduate Student Association Board Members and the Department Graduate Assistant to ensure students are involved in department improvements and initiatives and understand department procedures•Investigate students and faculty grievances by serving as an intermediary, highlighting university support resources and options, and involving the DGS when needed
