About Luke Camphausen

My passion for problem-solving, innovation, and community impact has been shaped by experiences that began long before college. Growing up in McLean, Virginia, I was surrounded by family members who set ambitious academic and professional examples. Their influence encouraged me to carve out my own path rooted in curiosity, determination, and service. From designing and testing 3D-printed prosthetic hands for underserved communities to leading environmental initiatives that improved water quality in the Chesapeake Bay, I’ve learned how impactful research and collaboration can be when paired with a drive to create meaningful change.At UNC-Chapel Hill, I am pursuing a degree in Economics (BA) and participating in the Shufford Program in Entrepreneurship, where I am challenged to merge business strategy with creativity and leadership. My academic journey is complemented by professional experiences, including my role at Datawatch Systems this past summer, where I supported both sales and finance teams on a project to track finances and streamline client operations.Looking forward, I plan to pursue opportunities that integrate economics, business, and technology, with a particular interest in consulting and corporate strategy. I aim to leverage my problem-solving skills and entrepreneurial mindset to design solutions that strengthen organizations while delivering value to the people they serve.Outside of academics and work, I enjoy golfing, flying RC planes, making computers and other activities that combine my technical hobbies with creative pursuits.
