ABOUT LUKE BURKE

Luke Burke is an Emmy Award–winning Executive Producer and founder of BURKE IV, a production company dedicated to honoring the art of storytelling through content that touches hearts, inspires souls, and enlightens minds.Over the course of his 20+ year career, Luke has earned some of the industry’s highest honors, including an Emmy, a Telly Award, the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism, and two NABJ Salute to Excellence Awards.Luke’s career began in 2003 when he was selected as one of only 15 participants in the prestigious MTV Networks Summer Associates Program. From there, he spent five years at MTV News & Docs, coordinating more than 250 daily news shoots across the country. His work spanned hit series such as Diary, Cribs, True Life, and High School Stories, as well as high-profile live events like the MTV Video Music Awards, the MTV Movie Awards Pre-Shows, and coverage of the 2004 and 2008 Presidential Elections.In 2009, Luke joined BET News as News Manager, where he helped shape groundbreaking coverage, including securing the first exclusive access to the family of Trayvon Martin.As a freelancer, Luke has brought his expertise to a wide range of influential outlets and brands, including VICE, CNN Headline News, BRAVO, STARZ, Tyler Perry Studios, Will Packer Productions, COMPLEX, EBONY, ESSENCE, Black Enterprise, META, and The SpringHill Company, among many others.As an Executive Producer, Luke is especially proud of his work for TIDAL—six original videos produced for the LIVE grand opening celebration of the Peace and Justice Museum and Memorial, now housed permanently at the museum for future generations to experience.Most recently, Luke joined News One, where he spearheaded the network’s 2024 Election coverage with the award-winning series The Black Ballot. In 2025, he helped launch Years Later, a digital docu-series revisiting viral historical moments with fresh perspective. In 2026, a new series \"Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness\" will explore how African Americans strive in daily life to achieve America\'s Promise on the heels of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.Through every chapter of his career, Luke has remained committed to using storytelling as a force for truth, justice, and cultural preservation.
