I am currently the Safety Manager at Gusmer Enterprises, Inc located in Waupaca, Wisconsin. My main philosophy in the world of Safety is the employees performing the hands on work, own and drive the program forward. The best path to success is to have full employee involvement so they are leaving work excited for their paycheck, not with an aching body. In 2017 our company was awarded the Wisconsin Safety Council Corporate Safety AwardIn my professional career, I have experienced many scenarios and situations which has allowed me to learn something new nearly every day and make critical and decisive decisions when required. In my career I have taken on numerous projects and challenges in which I have completed, grown from, and expanded my knowledge along the way. Projects such as developing the safety program at a new manufacturing facility from the ground up while managing a direct report and fulfilling all other obligations at my current facility. I was also heavily involved in equipment set up and approval before being released to production by completing safety audits, inspections, and Equipment Hazard Assessments Also, I took part in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring the safety representative at the new facility. Some other projects I\'ve lead such as updating Lockout/Tagout Procedures, Fall Protection Equipment and Programs, and Confined Space Retrieval and Procedures, Emergency Response Team program, and active shooter policies. This is a select few of the many projects that highlight the importance of receiving employee input and involving them throughout the process.
