Healthcare is a shared need by all in the community whether needed to get healthy, stay healthy, or for beginning and end of life circumstances. My driving passion is to improve our healthcare system so that it meets these needs with high quality and at a reasonable cost. I am an accomplished financial executive known for trusted business partnerships, servant leadership, simplifying the complex, cultivating strong finance teams, and achieving bottom line results. Success hinges on two key factors; being able to make the complex easy to understand and knowing what excellence looks like. Work I am most proud of is partnering with other departments in making the overall organization stronger. Leading the finance integration post-merger, between Providence and St Joseph Health, is an example of that partnership. I was able to improve back-office shared services and reduce overall costs by 20%. I am known for creating trusting relationships across the hospital system to solve complex problems. I created a coalition of data analysts, surgeons, nursing leadership, and surgical schedulers to improve operating room efficiency and occupancy. We were able to reduce capital spend and increase operating room volume 13%. The most life changing work I’ve been a part of is building water systems in Guatemala with Medical Teams International. This experience taught me that everyone on the planet has the same healthcare shared needs. Providing this service at little cost to the community was truly rewarding. My experience is at increasing levels of responsibility in the healthcare industry.
