ABOUT LUKE PATRICK COX
I have built a career focused on organizational excellence and performance development in both the United Kingdom and Canada. I hold a Bachelor of Science (Hon.) in Architectural Technology and after graduating became a consultant and project manager with RECOUP, the UK’s leading recycling consultancy, specializing in plastics recycling and infrastructure. I worked with clients like Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Tesco, and various local UK authorities. My projects involved consumer engagement, infrastructure development, site inspections, efficiency audits, and data collection and analytics.In 2014, I brought my expertise to Canada, where I took on roles including Director of Culture and Operations at SureCall Contact Centre, and Performance Development Manager for Marriott Hotels, the world’s leading travel company. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in large-scale hotel operations across multiple departments, including Events and Banquets, Training and Development, Food and Beverage, and Corporate Event Services.Currently, as Training Manager for the Calgary market, I oversee the training and performance development of over 1,500 associates across 8 hotels and 6 Marriott International brands. In this role, I leverage my years of experience working with global leaders to provide essential training and support for associates at all levels—from front-line staff to senior leaders. I focus on brand standards, service excellence, health and safety, sustainability, and core values. My goal is to ensure that our team delivers exceptional, award-winning service to our guests, while fostering individual growth and success for each associate.In addition to my full-time role with Marriott International, I volunteer as the Sustainability and Social Impact Chair for Marriott’s NEXTGen Business Council of Alberta. I also serve as the Secretary and Director of Events and Engagement for Alberta’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce. These roles allow me to pursue my passion for making a positive impact in the community I live in, supporting minority groups, and addressing inequality.
