ABOUT LUKE MILLARD

As Professor of Student Development my focus is on how we build a University and programmes that enable our students to achieve their full potential. This sees a focus on activities that promote student progression and the aligned relationship of how we empower staff to improve their learning, teaching and assessment design so that they can release their students\' potential. A core foundation of this is the generation of partnerships within, through Abertay students and staff, and outwith through collaborations with universities and employers across the world. Please contact me if you wish to be part of this approach.Research and publications focus upon student transitions and student engagement and recent activities have seen me exploring key aspects of the student journey from the first year student experience into enabling students to define their expectations of success through effective integration of diagnostics and microcredentials. In 2017, I was honoured to Chair the 11th European First Year Experience conference and intend to support the development of this influential movement over the coming years. I am also a member of the International Advisory Group for the International Journal of Students as Partners (IJSaP), https://mulpress.mcmaster.ca/ijsap/index
