RCP Relief Lead (Full Time Days)Working primarily in ICU, PICU, Med-surge, Telemetry, Emergency Dept. Respond to Code Blues, Code Whites, Code APGARs, RRTs(Assure airway, prepare ETT, set up mechanical vent with initial vent settings post intubation)Assist with intubations in the adult/pediatric settingsManagement of Mechanical Ventilators which includes but is not limited to: PB 980/840, Avea, Hamilton MR1 (intrafacility transport)Management of CPAP/Bipap via Phillips V60Management of High Flow Nasal Cannula via Phillips V60 and/or VapothermPerform Arterial Blood Gases to assess patient’s ventilation/oxygenation statusPerform Short Self Tests of PB 980/840s to assure readiness for the next patientPerform Chest Physiotherapy to patients who have difficulty mobilizing their secretions in conjunction with Mucolytic agents (NaCl 3%, Mucomyst)Administer bronchodilators to patients on a scheduled basis/as indicated given patient presentation & past medical historyAssist in percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy procedures by assuring ventilation & integrity of the ETT cuff as the physician makes an incision through the stomaAssist with bronchoscopy procedures in conjunction with the physicianPerform apnea tests to assess findings consistent with brain deathPerform Bronchiolitis/Asthma pathway scoring in the pediatric setting by assessing for retractions, wheezing, or shortness of breath to determine to best course of action in a given momentPerform spontaneous breathing trials, utilizing a multitude of ventilator modes to support extubation readiness for a patient
