About Luke Bergstrom

I am a former Global Co-Chair of the Latham & Watkins Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group and a former Vice Chair of our Technology Industry Group, resident in both our San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices. I focus on representing both corporate and private equity clients in connection with merger and acquisition transactions as well as complex joint ventures and strategic alliances. My practice spans a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on transactions in technology (from internet and digital media to hardware and semiconductor companies) and life sciences (both medical device and pharmaceutical companies).Practicing law successfully is so often less about what you can do as an individual and more about how well you work as part of a team, and this is certainly true of successful M&A lawyers. My career at Latham has given me the opportunity to work not only with a great team of lawyers in pressure-filled situations but also the opportunity to collaborate with interesting clients who appreciate the creativity and commercial sensibility that we bring to accomplishing their business objectives. I also enjoy the challenge of working on all manner of transactions, from a simple sale of a local startup, perhaps with a management team that has only been through one or two M&A deals at most, to quarterbacking teams on larger, more complex cross-border deals that keep you up for days on end.
