As Operations Director, I look after the operational management on a day to day basis, in order to meet agreed performances within budget and timescales provided. I ensure activities are compliant with company and legal requirements for both driver and vehicle regulations, quality management, health and safety, environmental policies and duty of care. Part of my role is to maintain appropriate systems for measuring operational management and development of the drivers, the drivers\' rounds and company vehicles. My role includes the recruitment and development of drivers, management of HR issues and ensuring the drivers meet the agreed performance criteria. Stock levels need to be monitored and expenditure controlled within defined budgets. Regular liaison is carried out with other managers to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives. As part of the senior management team, I am involved in the development of operational strategy and performance within the company.
