About Luis Nobriga

After graduating from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and becoming a Teach For America corps member, Luis has devoted his professional career to serving kids. First as a teacher, then as a Dean and Instructional Coach, and currently as the Founding Principal of KIPP Courage Academy in Miami, Florida. Luis has been recognized as \"Teacher of the Year\" and has led his students in accomplishing district and nationally-recognized academic growth in Reading and Language Arts- multiple times. He has taught and led in traditional and high-performing public charter schools and has worked relentlessly to have a positive impact on the hundreds of students he has worked with since 2010. As an instructional coach, Luis has supported novice and veteran teachers in becoming more effective, data-driven and culturally responsive educators, leading them to crush academic goals and build stronger socio-emotional skills in children. As a leadership coach, Luis has led professional development sessions ranging from high-impact instructional practices, race and equity workshops, and leadership development for aspiring and current school leaders across the country. He currently supports other coaches and school administrators in becoming more impactful in developing others while also ensuring their own sustainability in the work. Luis is passionate about building highly-effective teams, setting and progress monitoring strategic visions, and working with other leaders in small group or one-on-one settings to build effective habits, positive mindsets, and strategies to drive both short and long-term goals.
