Design/budget/plan/execute projects aimed at extracting and recovering rare earth elements (REE), platinum group, and other valuable or impurity metals (Li, Co, Cu, Ni, Sb, Bi) using molecular recognition technology (MRT) in combination with novel and environmentally benign processes.Main Achievements: 1. New product development by designing and installing an MRT system to recover Pd from a waste stream in auto-parts plating process. Successful design and commission of several MRT plants: a) Pilot plants targeted for extracting and recovering (1) Lithium from Brines, & (2) REE from mining ore, and Impurity control (3) Cd & Fe removal from CO electrolyte,(4) Re recovering from Cu electrolyte.b) b) Industrial scale plants targeted for Platinum Group Metals from autocatalytic converters leach stream in Korea and USA.All the plants were scaled-up from laboratory tests
