About Luis Legaspi

INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCEI am a dedicated professional with over a decade of experience in higher education, specializing in fostering inclusive environments and driving positive change. My expertise spans marketing, training, process improvement, and conflict resolution, all with a strong focus on equity and inclusion. My work is driven by a deep commitment to creating equitable relationships and initiatives that uplift underrepresented voices and promote diversity. Whether designing inclusive marketing campaigns, delivering impactful training sessions, or implementing strategic processes that prioritize equity, I continually strive to make a meaningful impact in the communities I serve.CONSULTING & COACHING SERVICESIn addition to my work in higher education, I am the founder of Legaspi Coaching and Consulting Partners. Through this venture, I provide tailored coaching, consulting, and facilitation services to empower individuals and organizations to navigate systemic challenges. My mission is to support personal and professional growth by fostering dignity, equity, and self-empowerment. I work with clients who seek to overcome barriers related to race, gender, and sexuality, helping them build resilience and self-awareness.CRITICAL RACE, GENDER, AND LEADERSHIP RESEARCHAs a scholar, I am passionate about exploring the intersections of gender and leadership, with a particular focus on the role of men in creating a more just society. My research centers on the question:\"What role do boys and men play in fostering gender equity?\" This work, combined with my coaching, facilitation, and teaching practices, underscores my commitment to challenging systemic inequalities and promoting social justice in all aspects of my work.CURRENT RESEARCH FOCUSI study leadership, power, and identity through the lens of gender as an analytic tool, critically examining how leadership is shaped by interlocking systems of imperialism, white supremacy, neoliberal capitalism, and cisheteropatriarchy. My research considers both the social dimensions of identity (race, class, gender, sexuality) and the intrapersonal (self-perception, anxieties, and internalized power structures), showing how these forces influence who is recognized as a leader and how leadership is enacted.
