Providing guidance regarding compliance of physical, programmatic, and effective communication access in all phases of emergency response, recovery, mitigation and preparedness in accordance to American’s with Disabilities Act, Architectural Barriers Act, Telecommunications Act, Stafford Act, Fair Housing Act Amendment, and Post Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act.Manage Disability Integration (DI) staff (47) deployed to the disaster including assigning staff as appropriate to support DI activities and initiatives in line with DI objectives to support individuals with Access and Functional Needs (AFN): 62 Disaster Survivor Assistance (DSA) Teams, 47 Transitional Sheltering Assistance (TSA) Teams, 53 Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) and over 70 Individual Assistance (IA) Teams.Working collaboratively and providing guidance to External Affairs, Community Relations, Individual Assistance, Recovery and other program areas to serve as the technical advisor about community partnerships, programs and processes to FEMA and other federal agency, state staff and jurisdictional officials to create an inclusive emergency response and recovery plans or actions.Working with various entities to insure all programs (National Flood Insurance Program, HAP – Homeowners Assistance Program, Community Planning Capacity Building, CDBG and CDGB-DR – Community Development Block Grants and Disaster Recovery) and services meet the needs of individuals, agency priorities and policies, as well as federal laws and guidelines including compiling and running FIDA reports.Coordinate with disability community members, advocates, and service organizations to meet the needs of survivors affected by a disaster. Coordinate community members/stakeholders and FEMA programs to address survivor needs – Texas General Land Office, Texas Department of Emergency Management, various counties services, city services, National Voluntary Organizations Activated during Disasters and various Non-Profits.
