About Luis Alfredo Escobar
NYU Stern on a full scholarship. I was on the finance track until I started noticing how much demand there was for engineers. So I pivoted: Flatiron bootcamp, then two years at VMware as a Software Developer. Full-stack, 8+ teams, 3+ enterprise clients.After VMware, a structured teacher training program was opening at Nieves Dance Studio—the kind that doesn\'t run continuously—and I had the runway to do it properly. Shadow phases. Apprenticeship. Curriculum from scratch. Two original solos performed at nationally recognized congresses. It required choosing one or the other. I chose dance knowing software would still be there.The training is done. I run four classes a week—30 to 50 students each. What used to take full-time now takes a fraction of it.I\'m back to building full-stack, looking for the right team. Side project in progress: an iOS dance training app.Bilingual in English and Spanish. Open to remote.
