About Luis Velasco

Luis Velasco obtained his Master’s degree in Architecture with a certificate in Urban and Community Design Studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock Texas. He is originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico and has resided in the USA for the past 11 years. As a graduate student he worked as a graduate research assistant at Urban Tech Design Studio; an organization under the College of architecture that seeks to clarify the public benefits in architecture. His works have been published on the Crop book (a TTU CoA Publication that showcases the best student work produced in the college) for three consecutive times. Luis studied abroad in Seville, Spain as part of his undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University. During the summer of 2013 Luis was fortunate enough to spend his summer in Dallas as part of the intern program at Gensler in which he learned valuable information and met important and talented people. Luis joined the Gensler team on January 13th of 2014 and he is excited to learn and to be part of the great things happening there. Within the next few years Luis plans to build up his experience while working at Gensler as well as become a licensed architect.
