About Luis Sierra
I am a fourth-year student at the University of Florida majoring in Political Science and minoring in Public Relations. While in school, I have dedicated myself to understanding the intricacies of political systems with the hope of developing my knowledge of legislative issues to help me become a lawyer. As I am on the pre-law track, I am searching for any opportunity to expand my current proficiency and experience in the field of law. I am particularly interested in issues pertaining to public policy, the constitution, international relations, and corporate governance. Throughout my studies, I have participated in various internships and extracurricular activities that have sharpened my ability to examine complex political issues and convey messages clearly and persuasively. My experience includes working with local governmental agencies and student organizations, and nonprofit organizations, where I have contributed to policy research, community outreach, and public speaking. This summer, I undertook a study abroad program at Cardiff University in Cardiff, Wales. For the duration of the five-week program, I studied UK governmental policies and environmental law. This provided me the chance to analyze the nation\'s immigration system and present my findings at a conference to members of the Cardiff University School of Law and Politics faculty. Additionally, I had the incredible opportunity to intern for organizations such as Support Through Court, a charity that assists people facing court proceedings without legal representation, and The Justice Gap, an online magazine that covers stories on law and justice. Through this experience, I was able to acquire a deeper understanding of Welsh politics while honing my writing/researching abilities.
