Working for Nokia Research-Standards at Nokia Solutions & Networks/ Bell labs located in Munich-Expert contributor role working jointly in collaboration with the 3GPP RAN delegations of Nokia and other teams of radio researchers located worldwide-Development of new innovative concepts and prototyping (Matlab/C++) in the context of 5G advanced since Rel. 18 and toward 6G radio systems which can be adopted in 3GPP standards, in particular for MIMO enhancements and CSI acquisition, but also for other aspects like radio resource management, mobility and energy efficiency-Academic cooperation with German universities, technical supervision and project planning responsibilities. Internship and PhD student advising in MIMO topics (NCJT/CJT, mobility, enhanced data transmission)-MIMO CSI task lead for 5G+ Type II related features, like CSI prediction/Doppler codebook, CJT CSI and calibration in Rel. Role carried out in this task: coordination and leading of the back-office processes, i.e, simulation tasks coordination, team ramp-up, T-doc reviews, technical discussion, project documentation and IPR generation. Preparation of the T-doc contributions for RAN1 MIMO CSI related to Rel. 19 and RAN4 contributions for Rel.

Luis Suarez is a Bachelor in Electronics Engineering (2007) and Masters of Science in Telecommunications Engineering (2009) from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He also holds a PhD in Computer Science from IMT Atlantique (2013) located in Rennes, France. For a long time, he has developed a career as computer science researcher with more than 15 years of experience in the field of telecommunication networks. His main focus is on wireless networks algorithms, in particular mobile 4G/5G/6G networks, massive MIMO, Cooperative Transmission, wireless sensor networks/Internet of Things, energy efficiency/ renewable energy sources for mobile networks and radio standardization topics. During the last years, he has developed a robust international and multicultural experience working with teams located worldwide. He worked for 7 years with the Huawei Russian Research Institute located in Moscow/Saint Petersburg as a Senior researcher. Currently since October 2022, he joined Nokia Research-Standards located in the city of Munich as Senior Staff Research Specialist/ R&D radio expert. He counts with 6 international journal articles, 17 conference proceeding papers, 2 book chapters (in french) and 40+ patent applications.
