ABOUT LUIS IBARRA

Luis, a Mechanical Engineer with an Honorific Mention from Universidad Simon Bolivar in Venezuela (2006) and an MSc Thesis in Robotics from Lund University, Sweden, embarked on an impressive 17-year journey in the energy sector.He commenced his career by joining the Integrated Project Management Group of SLB (formerly Schlumberger), where he spearheaded well delivery optimisation in factory drilling and HPHT campaigns. Across Latin America and the Middle East, Luis provided invaluable support to operators under various contracting models.His tenure at SLB culminated as a Senior Well Engineer, equipped with a wealth of experience. Eager for new horizons, he pursued an MBA at Robert Gordon University in the UK, graduating with Distinction in 2014. His consultancy project for Shell, centred on \"Maximising Economic Recovery in the UKCS through Supply Chain Collaboration,\" showcased his strategic thinking.This transformative experience led him to a new path into entrepreneurship and the incorporation of eCERTO in 2016. Luis and his executive team have been instrumental in providing strategic guidance to senior leadership in the energy sector, for both developers and tier-1 contractors with a significant portfolio of capital projects. Recognising the potential of a digitally-enabled supply chain, since its beginnings, eCERTO has been at the forefront of innovation.In 2019, Luis led eCERTO to become part of the top 5% of global energy tech start-ups, successfully graduating from the TechX Pioneers Programme at the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC).
