ABOUT LUIS ARAHAM ENCINAS
I am a first-generation Master of Public Affairs student at Indiana University, specializing in Public Finance and Policy Analysis. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy Analysis and Business Analytics from the Kelley School of Business. My journey is inspired by my mother’s words: “We come into this world to leave marks, not scars.”Throughout my academic and professional experience, I have developed strong skills in communication, collaboration, time management, and strategic initiative. I have held leadership roles including serving as a Delegate in the Kelley Student Government and as an active member of the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA).I am deeply committed to advancing equity, inclusion, and representation. My work—both inside and outside the classroom—reflects a dedication to immigrant justice, gender equity, and the empowerment of Latino and Queer communities. I engage in advocacy and policy work through a holistic lens that incorporates mental health, cultural identity, and community-driven impact. My long-term goal is to contribute meaningfully to public finance and economic policy, promoting systems that are just, sustainable, and inclusive. Please feel free to connect with me here or reach out at a•••••••@iu.edu.
