ABOUT LUCY NEWELL
Hello! My name is Lucy and I’m a third-year law student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. I’m a thoughtful advocate with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for public interest and policy work. At Loyola, I serve as the Community Director for the Moot Court Program and will compete on the American Bar Association Moot Court Team this coming year. Last year, at the National Child Welfare and Adoption Law Moot Court Competition, I was awarded the honor of Best Oralist and reached the semi-final round alongside my partner. Outside of school, I work at Schain Banks, a law firm focused on land use, zoning, and various litigation matters. Prior to law school, I was a member of the Legislative Team at the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, where I conducted outreach on produce safety, researched agricultural and environmental issues, and connected with rural communities across Indiana. In my professional life I strive to engage in community building and advocacy.
