As a chartered environmental scientist (C.WEM, C.Env) specialising in rivers and water environments, I have a passion for building knowledge and evidence of water environments and processes as supporting systems for biodiversity through integrated analysis.Championing integrated systems thinking from headwaters to transitional estuarine waters; delivering training for professionals and citizen scientists through River Condition Assessment the Modular River Survey (MoRPh) and the Statutory Biodiversity Metric for watercourses with CIEEM, EA and PAS to support delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain.An interdisciplinary practitioner with experience of both regulatory, community and development perspectives, providing consultancy services for catchment partner organisations, river trusts and others to support River Basin Planning and delivery of 25 Year Environment Plan (25YEP) objectives; advocate of working with nature to achieve process-based river restoration design, inclusive cross-sectoral techniques for appraisal and evidence building, fundraising for nature-based solutions and natural capital accounting, especially in relation to delivering better and more accessible ecologically sustainable outcomes for chalk streams, heavily modified and urban river systems and communities.
